The Independent hailed Wyn Morris as "one of the finest conductors that Britain has produced." In the late 1980s, Morris broke with the trend toward "authentic" interpretation and recorded a traditionalist cycle of the Beethoven symphonies with the London Symphony Orchestra that included Barry Cooper's realization of the composer's incomplete Tenth Symphony. The performances, infused with energy and passion, eloquently convey the music's romantic heart and the portrait of a composer whose mature artistic vision was decades ahead of his time.
